Our Services

FIRSTMED Ambulance Service, Inc. provides Basic Life Support (BLS), Critical Care Transport (CCT), and Respiratory Transport (RT) ambulance services throughout Southern California. Our fleet of 25 FordType II and Type III Ambulances from Leader Industries are all model year 2006 or newer, and are equipped with the latest medical devices and equipment, including Power Stryker Gurneys. In fact, we are one of only two companies in the greater Los Angeles area that exclusively uses these type of gurneys.

Basic Life Support
Our BLS services are provided by our team of highly skilled Emergency Medical Technicians, all of whom have completed a State accredited EMT Training Program, and have successfully passed the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification examinations, and who possess EMT certifications that are valid throughout California. Furthermore, all of our EMT staff go through extensive pre-hire screening, including criminal background and driving history checks, and post-hire field training, including CCT training, allowing our EMTs to run Critical Care Transport and Respiratory Transport calls with our team of Registered Nurses and Respiratory Care Practitioners.

Critical Care Transport
Our Critical Care Transport (CCT) Program are provided by our team of highly trained and skilled Registered Nurses, all of whom must possess California licensure as a Registered Nurse, and must be currently certified in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS/NRP. All of our nursing staff has extensive experience in the ER and/or ICU/CCU, which gives them the necessary skills to operate outside of the hospital environment on critically ill or injured patients during transport. Our CCT unit is capable of transporting critically injured/ill patients from one facility to a facility offering a higher level of care or specialty services, such as cardiac catheterization or organ transplantation services. Our CCT Unit is equipped with a number of pharmaceuticals, including narcotics, allowing our Nurses to respond to any change in the patient's condition during transport; 2 Multi-Channel Intravenous Pumps; and a Transport Ventilator.

Respiratory Transport
Our Respiratory Transport Services are provided by our team of Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners, all of whom must be currently licensed by the State of California, and who must possess certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS/NRP. Further, our Respiratory Care Practitioners must have extensive experience in the ICU/CCU in order to qualify for employment with us. Our Respiratory Transport Services offer the ability to transport patients that are ventilator dependent between facilities, which services are not currently provided by the majority of local ambulance service providers.

Neonatal Transport
Our highly skilled specifically trained Neonatal Transport team is proficient in ground transport of the most fragile and delicate newly born patients. We continue to be the neonatal transportation team in the Greater Los Angeles area with the capability of doing high frequency ventilation transport. We have the capability of providing transport of critically ill infants with conventional and high frequency ventilation.

Gurney Transport
Gurney Transport Services are provided by our team of highly skilled Emergency Medical Technicians and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Technicians, all of whom have completed the California State accredited EMT Training and or American Heart Association CPR Program. Our staff go through extensive pre-hire screening, including background and driving history, and post-hire field training, to provide a high standard service for our partnered facilities and patient requiring the services. Our Gurney Transport Services, operating within the San Gabriel Valley Area are provided solely to our partnered facilities to meet their along with their patients needs.

Wheelchair Transport
Wheelchair Transport Services are provided by our team of highly skilled Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Technicians, all of whom have completed the American Heart Association CPR Program. Our staff go through extensive pre-hire screening, including background and driving history, and post-hire field training, to provide a high standard service for our partnered facilities and patient requiring the services. Our Wheelchair Transport Services, operating within the San Gabriel Valley Area are provided solely to our partnered facilities to meet their along with their patients needs.

Disaster Response Team
With the approval of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and partnered with American Medical Response (ARM), our highly trained and accredited EMTs in the field of Disaster Response are prepared to provide ground ambulance service along with para-transit service to supplement federal and military responses to disasters. Our EMTs are trained to provide mass medical care with scarce resources and to use altered standards of care in mass casualty events while assisting communities in difficult times of need.

Stand-By and Community Services
We proudly service our communities throughout Greater Los Angeles Area for special events such as: Sporting Events, Community Parades, Production Filming, Health Fairs and Career Day’s. Our highly trained and proficient EMTs are quick to respond to an immediate emergency action, stabilizing patients for transport to a higher level of care.

First-Aid and CPR Training
Our highly trained and experienced team members with the leadership of our Operations Manager proudly service our Community and partnered facilities by training First-Aid and Cardiopulmonary Restriction (CPR). We are equipped with and supply with training dummies, adult and infant sizes, that make our training lessons as real and everyday life experienced as possible.
